KODAK Scan Station 100, i1200 and i1300 Series Scanners Honored
Eastman Kodak Company's award-winning document imaging portfolio continues to garner honors as its five newest desktop models each earned Editor's Choice ratings in the Better Buys for Business 2006 Scan-to-File Guide.
The KODAK Scan Station 100 walkup/network scanner, workgroup i1210 and i1220 Scanners, and departmental i1310 and i1320 Scanners were given this distinction in the recently published guide.Better Buys for Business, the nation's leading independent authority on document imaging equipment, including copiers, printers, faxes, and scanners, evaluates hundreds of models from all major manufacturers when selecting award recipients.
Only one or two models from each category achieve "Editor's Choice" status, a designation for those products that provide the best performance and represent the best value."It is gratifying to continue to receive recognition for Kodak's evolving portfolio of document scanners, particularly for our efforts within the distributed capture segment," said Kevin Keener, US&C marketing director of Kodak's document imaging business. "Kodak takes great strides to constantly improve and advance our scanners, and to deliver the most efficient and effective products to meet the ever changing needs of our customers."
The guide says the KODAK i1200 and i1300 Series Scanners are a family that "one-ups many units described for cramped desktops," citing their unique tilting capability "enables users to reposition the scanning mechanism to best suit their needs, saving even more space in the process." The units are further described as "personal scanners with the speed of batch scanners," "easy to use," and "remarkably powerful" despite their small size. The i1210, a simplex scanner, captures documents at speeds up to 30 pages per minute (ppm), while its duplex counterpart, the i1220 Scanner, captures both sides of documents at speeds up to 60 images per minute (ipm). Both models have a peak daily volume of 1,500 pages. Expanding even further on these innovations is the i1300 Series.
The simplex i1310 captures documents at 60 ppm with the duplex i1320 model at the high speed of 120 ipm. Both can scan up to 3,000 pages per day.Better Buys for Business also honored the KODAK Scan Station 100 with an Editor's Choice rating, describing it as a "hybrid of a desktop scanner and a PC, together in one standalone machine." The guide further says the Scan Station may be "the next logical step in the evolution of compact desktop scanners." The scanner includes a rotatable color LCD touch screen, can handle a wide variety of documents including id cards, has a USB portable drive, captures up to 25 pages or 50 images per minute, and has a peak daily volume of 1,500 pages.About Eastman Kodak CompanyKodak is the world's foremost imaging innovator, providing leading products and services to the photographic, graphic communications, and healthcare markets.
